A Story Of Hope - A Man & The Window
Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help drain the fluid from his lungs. His bed was next to the room's only window. The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back. The men talked for hours on end. They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation. And every afternoon when the man in the bed by the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window. The man in the other bed began to live for those one-hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the world outside. The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake. Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Young lovers walked arm in arm amidst flowers of every color of the rainbow. Grand old trees graced the landscape, and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance. As the man by the window described all this in exquisite detail, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine the picturesque scene. One warm afternoon the man by the window described a parade passing by. Although the other man couldn't hear the band - he could see it in his mind's eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive words. Days and weeks passed. One morning, the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths only to find the lifeless body of the man by the window, who had died peacefully in his sleep. She was saddened and called the hospital attendants to take the body away. As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked if he could be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch, and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone. Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look at the world outside. Finally, he would have the joy of seeing it for himself. He strained to slowly turn to look out the window beside the bed. It faced a blank wall. The man asked the nurse what could have compelled his deceased roommate who had described such wonderful things outside this window. The nurse responded that the man was blind and could not even see the wall. She said, "Perhaps he just wanted to encourage you." Labels: stories

Come with me to a third grade classroom...
There is a nine-year-old kid sitting at his desk and all of a sudden, there is a puddle between his feet and the front of his pants are wet.
He thinks his heart is going to stop because he cannot possibly imagine how this has happened. It's never happened before, and he knows that when the boys find out he will never hear the end of it. When the girls find out, they'll never speak to him again as long as he lives.
The boy believes his heart is going to stop; he puts his head down and prays this prayer, "Dear God, this is an emergency! I need help now! Five minutes from now I'm dead meat."
He looks up from his prayer and here comes the teacher with a look in her eyes that says he has been discovered.
As the teacher is walking toward him, a classmate named Susie is carrying a goldfish bowl that is filled with water. Susie trips in front of the teacher and inexplicably dumps the bowl of water in the boy's lap.
The boy pretends to be angry, but all the while is saying to himself, "Thank you, Lord! Thank you, Lord!"
Now all of a sudden, instead of being the object of ridicule, the boy is the object of sympathy.
The teacher rushes him downstairs and gives him gym shorts to put on while his pants dry out. All the other children are on their hands and knees cleaning up around his desk. The sympathy is wonderful.
But as life would have it, the ridicule that should have been his has been transferred to someone else - Susie.
She tries to help, but they tell her to get out, yelling, "You've done enough, you klutz!"
Finally, at the end of the day, as they are waiting for the bus, the boy walks over to Susie and whispers, "You did that on purpose, didn't you?"
Susie smiles and whispers back, "I wet my pants once too."
May God help us see the opportunities that are always around us to do good...
Remember... Just going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than standing in your garage makes you a car.
Each and everyone one of us is going through tough times right now, but God is getting ready to bless you in a way that only He can.
Keep the faith!

I stared at the girl next to me.
She was my so called "best friend".
I stared at her long, silky hair,
and wished she was mine.
But she didn't notice me like that,
I knew it.
After class she
walked up to me
and asked
me for the notes she had missed the day
before and handed them
to her.
She said "thanks"
and gave me a kiss on the cheek.
I want to tell her,

she decided to go to sleep.
She looked at me,

Graduation Day
a day passed, then a week, then a month.
before I could blink, it was graduation day.
I watched as her perfect body floated like an angel
up on stage to get her diploma.
I wanted her to be mine,
but she didn't notice me like that,
and I knew it.
Before
everyone went home,
she came to me in
her smock and hat,
and
cried as I hugged her.
then she lifted
her
head from my shoulder and said,
"you`re my best friend, thanks!"
and gave me a kiss on the Cheek.
I want to tell her,
I want her to know that

A Few Years Later
now I sit in the pews of the church.
that girl is getting married now.
I watched her say
"i do"
and drive off to her new life, married to another man.
I wanted her to be mine,
but she didn't`t see me like that
and I knew it.
But before she drove away,
she came to me n said
"you came!" She said. "thanks!"
and kissed me on the cheek.
I want to tell her,
I want her to know
that i don't want to

Years passed,
I looked down at the coffin of a girl
who used to be my "best friend".
at the service they read a diary entry
she had wrote in her high school years.
This is what it read:
I stare at him wishing
he was mine,
but he doesn't`t notice me like that,
and I know it.
i want to tell him,
i want him to know
that I don`t want to
be just friends,
I love him but I'm just too shy,
and I don`t know why.
I wish
he would tell me he loved me...
I wish
I did too.
I thought to myself, and I cried

There is tremendous happiness in making others happy, despite our own situations. Shared grief is half the sorrow, but happiness when shared, is doubled. If you want to feel rich, just count all of the things you have that money can't buy.

spark of love. A little while ago I had started to go out with another
woman. It was really my wife's idea. "I know that you love her," she
said one day, taking me by surprise.
"But I love YOU," I protested. "I know, but you also love her."
The other woman that my wife wanted me to visit was my mother, who has
been a widow for 19 years, but the demands of my work and my three
children had made it possible to visit her only occasionally. That
night I called to invite her to go out for dinner and a movie.
"What's wrong, are you well?" she asked. My mother is the type of woman
who suspects that a late night call or a surprise invitation is a sign
of bad news.
"I thought that it would be pleasant to pass some time with you," I
responded. " Just the two of us."
She thought about it for a moment then said "I would like that very
much."
That Friday after work, as I drove over to pick her up I was a bit
nervous. When I arrived at her house, I noticed that she, too, seemed
to be nervous about our date. She waited in the door with her coat on.
She had curled her hair and was wearing the dress that she had worn to
celebrate her last wedding anniversary. She smiled from a face that was as radiant as an angel's.
"I told my friends that I was going to go out with my son, and they
were impressed," she said, as she got into the car. "They can't wait to hear about our meeting". We went to a restaurant that, although not
elegant, was very nice and cozy. my mother took my arm as if she were
the First Lady.
After we sat down, I had to read the menu to her. Her eyes could only
read large print. Half way through the entree, I lifted my eyes and
saw Mom sitting there staring at me.
A nostalgic smile was on her lips. "It was I who used to have to read
the menu when you were small," she said.
"Then it's time for you to relax and let me return the favor," I
responded.
During the dinner we had an agreeable conversation, nothing
extraordinary - but catching up on recent events of each others lives.
We talked so much that we missed the movie.
As we arrived at her house later, she said "I'll go out with you again,
but only if you let me invite you". I agreed.
"How was your dinner date?" asked my wife when I got home. "Very nice.
Much more so than I could have imagined," I answered.
A few days later my mother died of a massive heart attack. It happened
so suddenly that I didn't have a chance to do anything for her.
Some time later I received an envelope with a copy of a restaurant
receipt from the same place mother and I had dined.
An attached note said: "I paid this bill in advance. I was almost sure
that I couldn't be there but, nevertheless, I paid for two plates -
one for you and the other for your wife. You will never know what that
night meant to me. I love you."
At that moment I understood the importance of saying, in time: "I LOVE
YOU" and giving our loved ones the time that they deserve.
Nothing in life is more important than God and your family and friends.
Give them the time they deserve, because these things cannot be put off
'til "some other time".
Someone once said "I've learned that, regardless of your relationship
with your parents, you'll miss them when they're gone from your
life.
I think this is true with your in-laws, grandchildren, sisters,
brothers and your friends. Anyone that means something to you-you
should spend time with them and let them know how much they mean to you as often as you can.
Please pass this along to your friends and family. Touch
their hearts.
It has touched mine. I am glad that you are my friend.

Nothing about her was extraordinary.
Nothing about her made her stand out in a crowd.
She grew up in a family of six.
The eldest, she learnt responsibility at an early age.
As she grew stronger, and brighter,
She instilled a sort of light cheer to whomever she met.
But she made others feel beautiful about themselves.
She meets a rebel boy who thinks he's all man.
Befriending him, she teaches him how to read,
A little boost the man needed to go to college.
Fast in love with her rugged, handsome student.
The "man" then finds himself in a dilemma
He soon found himself in love with a girl.
A girl so beautiful, she turned even the grouchiest men's head.
Her hair was a halo of light around her,
Her eyes the bluest blue of ocean.
Like a beautiful angel.
The girl swallows a lump at her throat
She did not possess the heart of the one she loved
But she did not care.
As long as he was happy,
She would be or so she tried to.
All the time envisioning that it was she herself
Receiving those very letters.
And so the girl helped him choose the right words,
Buy the right gifts for his angel
His angel brought him much joy
And much pain to the girl who cried behind her smiles.
But that never stopped her from giving more
Than she will ever receive.
The angel he loved left him for another man,
A richer, more successful man.
The boy was stunned
He was so hurt he did not speak for days
The girl went to him
He cried on her shoulder and she cried with him
He hurt and so did she.
And so the wounds heal.
The boy realizes something about his friend/tutor
He never realized before.
How her laughter sounded heavenly
Or how her smiles brightened up the darkest days.
Or simply how beautiful, yes beautiful she looked to him!
This plain, simple girl was beautiful to him.
And he began to fall.
Fall so in love with this beautiful girl.
He walked to her house, nervous ad fidgeting.
Running his thoughts over and over in his head.
He was going to tell her how beautiful she was to him.
He was going to tell her how wonderfully n love he was with her.
He knocked.
No one was home.
The beautiful girl he fell in love with had brain aneurysm
That put her into a coma.
The doctors were grim and the family decided to let her go.
He held her hand.
He stroked her hair,
And he cried for this beautiful girl.
He cried for he will never see her smile
Or hear her speak his name
But it was too late.
In a beautiful spring shower, a cry for their loss.
She was the most beautiful girl in the world.
Aren't there a lot of plain faces?
Take a good look
A real good look or you might miss out
On that beautiful person....

Caught in a trench with continuous gunfire's whizzing over his head,
the soldier asked his lieutenant if he might go out into the "no man's land"
between the trenches to bring his fallen comrade back.
"You can go," said the lieutenant, "but i don't think it will be worth it.
Your friend is probably dead and you may throw your life away."
The lieutenant's didn't matter, and the soldier went anyway.
Miraculously he managed to reach his friend, hoist him onto his shoulder
and bring him back to their company's trench.
As the two of them tumbled in together to the bottom of the trench, the officer checked the wounded soldier, and then looked kindly at his friend.
"I told you it wouldn't be worth it," he said. "Your friend is dead and you are mortally wounded."
"It was worth it, though, sir," said the soldier.
"How do you mean, worth it?" responded the Lieutenant. "Your friend is dead"
"YES, Sir" the private answered. "But it was worth it because when i got to him, he was still alive and i had the satisfaction of hearing him say,
"JIM........, I KNEW YOU'D COME."
(Take sometime to think about the story then stroll down)
Many times in life, whether a thing is worth doing or not, really depends on how u look at it. Take up all your courage and do something your heart tells you to do so that you may not regret not doing it later in your life...
"May each and every one of you be blessed with the company of true friends."
"A true friend is one who walks in, when the rest of the world walks out."
War doesn't determine who's right.
War only determines who's left.

One day, the King came upon a servant who was singing happily while he worked. This fascinated the King; why was he, the Supreme Ruler of the Land, unhappy and gloomy, while a lowly servant had so much joy in his heart?
The King asked the servant, “Why are you so happy?” The man replied, “Your Majesty, I am nothing but a servant, but my family and I don’t need too much – just a roof over our heads and warm food to fill our tummies.”
Later in the day, the King sought the advice of his most trusted advisor. After hearing the King’s woes and the servant’s story, the advisor said, “Your Majesty, I believe that the servant has not been made part of The 99 Club.”
“The 99 Club? And what exactly is that?” the King inquired. The advisor replied, “Your Majesty, to truly know what The 99 Club is, place 99 Gold coins in a bag and leave it at this
servant’s doorstep.”
When the servant saw the bag, he took it into his house. When he opened the bag, he let out a great shout of joy… so many gold coins!
He began to count them. After several counts, he was at last convinced that there were 99 coins. He wondered, “What could’ve happened to that last gold coin? Surely, no one would leave 99 coins!” He looked everywhere he could, but that final coin was elusive.
Finally, exhausted, he decided that he was going to have to work harder than ever to earn that gold coin and complete his collection. From that day, the servant’s life was changed. He was overworked, horribly grumpy, and castigated his family for not helping him make that 100th gold coin. He stopped singing while he worked.
Witnessing this drastic transformation, the King was puzzled. When he sought his advisor’s help, the advisor said, “Your Majesty, the servant has now officially joined The 99 Club.”
He continued, “The 99 Club is a name given to those people who have enough to be happy but are never contented, because they’re always yearning and striving for that extra 1 to round it out to 100!
We can be happy, even with very little in our lives, but the minute we’re given something bigger and better, we want even more! We lose our sleep, our happiness, we hurt the people around us; all these as a price for our growing needs and desires. That’s what joining The 99 Club is all about.”

Today was Daddy's Day at school, and she couldn't wait to go.
But her mommy tried to tell her, that she probably should stay home.
Why the kids might not understand, if she went to school alone.
But she was not afraid; she knew just what to say.
What to tell her classmates of why he wasn't there today.
But still her mother worried, for her to face this day alone.
And that was why once again, she tried to keep her daughter home.
But the little girl went to school eager to tell them all.
About a dad she never sees a dad who never calls.
There were daddies along the wall in back, for everyone to meet.
Children squirming impatiently, anxious in their seats.
One by one the teacher called a student from the class.
To introduce their daddy, as seconds slowly passed.
At last the teacher called her name, every child turned to stare.
Each of them was searching, a man who wasn't there.
"Where's her daddy at?" she heard a boy call out.
"She probably doesn't have one," another student dared to shout.
And from somewhere near the back, she heard a daddy say,"Looks like another deadbeat dad, too busy to waste his day."
The words did not offend her, as she smiled up at her Mom.
And looked back at her teacher, who told her to go on.
And with hands behind her back, slowly she began to speak.
And out from the mouth of a child, came words incredibly unique.
"My Daddy couldn't be here, because he lives so far away. But I know he wishes he could be, since this is such a special day. And though you cannot meet him, I wanted you to know.
All about my daddy, and how much he loves me so. He loved to tell me stories he taught me to ride my bike. He surprised me with pink roses, and taught me to fly a kite. We used to share fudge sundaes, and ice cream in a cone. And though you cannot see him. I'm not standing here alone. Cause my daddy's always with me, even though we are apart I know because he told me, he'll forever be in my heart"
With that, her little hand reached up, and lay across her chest.
Feeling her own heartbeat, beneath her favorite dress.
And from somewhere here in the crowd of dads, her mother stood in tears.
Proudly watching her daughter, who was wise beyond her years.
For she stood up for the love of a man not in her life.
Doing what was best for her, doing what was right.
And when she dropped her hand back down, staring straight into the crowd.
She finished with a voice so soft, but its message clear and loud.
"I love my daddy very much, he's my shining star. And if he could, he'd be here, but heaven's just too far. You see he was a policeman and died just this past year. When airplanes hit the towers and taught Americans to fear. But sometimes when I close my eyes, it's like he never went away."
And then she closed her eyes, and saw him there that day.
And to her mother's amazement, she witnessed with surprise.
A room full of daddies and children, all starting to close their eyes...
Who knows what they saw before them, who knows what they felt inside.
Perhaps for merely a second, they saw him at her side.
"I know you're with me Daddy," to the silence she called out.
They say
it takes a minute to find a special person,
an hour to appreciate them,
a day to love them,
but then an entire life to forget them.

One day, she didn't appear. I felt something amissed. I can't explain the feeling except it's a kind of uneasiness. The senior was also not there as well. I went to their classroom, hid outside and saw my senior scolding her. Tears were in her eyes while he left. The next day, I saw her at her usual place, looking at him. I walked over and smiled to her. Took out a note & gave to her. She was surprised. She looked at me, smiled & accept the note. The next day, she appeared & pass me a note and left. Leaf's heart is too heavy and wind couldn't blow her away. It's not that leaf heart is too heavy. It because leaf never want to leave tree. I replied her note with this statement and slowly she started to talk to me & accept my presents & phone calls. I know that the person she loves is not me. But I have this perseverance that one day I will make her like me.
Within 4 mths, I have declared my love for her no less than 20 times. Everytime, she will divert away from the topic. But I never give up. If I decide I want her to be mine, I will definitely use all means to win her over. I can't remember how many times I have declared my love to her. Although I know she will try to divert but I still bear a small ray of hope. Hoping that she will agree to me, my girlfriend. I didn't hear any reply from her over the phone. I asked "what are you doing? How come you didn't want to reply?" She said, "I'm nodding my head". "Ah?" I couldn't believe my ears. "I'm nodding my head" She replied loudly. I hang up the phone, quickly changed and took a taxi and rush to her place & press her door bell. During the moment when she opens the door. I hugged her tightly.
"Leaf departure is because of Wind pursuit. Or because Tree didn't ask her to stay"

But after a mth, he got together with another gal. I like him & I know he like me. But why won't he pursue me? Since he love me why he doesn't want to make the first move? Whenever he had a new girlfriend, my heart would hurt. Time after time, my heart was hurt. I begin to suspect that this is a one sided love. If he don't like me, why does he treat me so well. It's beyond what you will normally do for a friend. Liking a person is very heart wrenching. I can know his likes, his habits. But his feelings towards me I can never figure out. You can't expect me a gal to ask him right. Despite that, I still want to be by his side. Care for him, accompany him, love him. Hoping that one fine day, he will come & love me. It's like waiting for his phone call every night, wanting him to send me sms. I know that no matter how busy he is, he will make time for me.
Because of this, I waited for him. The 3 years were the hardest to go through & I really want to give up. Sometimes, I wonder should I continue waiting. The pain and hurt, the dilemma accompany me for 3 years.Till the end of my 3rd year, a 2nd year junior begins to go after me. Everyday he pursuit me relentlessly. From outright rejection to a point in time when I felt that I'm willing to let him have a small footing in my heart. He's like a warm & gentle wind, trying to blow a leaf away from the tree. In the end, I realized that I didn't want to give this wind a small footing in my heart. I know this wind will bring this badly battered leave far away & better land. Finally I left tree, but the tree only smile & didn't ask me to stay.
"Leaf departure is because of Wind pursuit. Or because Tree didn't ask her to stay"
continue...

Overtime I start to use a tree on the right hand corner as a trademark for all my watercolors painting. I have dated 5 gals when I was in Pre- U. There's one gal who I love a lot but never dare go after her.
She doesn't have a pretty face, doesn't have a good figure, doesn't have outstanding charm.
She is just a very ordinary gal.
I like her. I really like her. Like her innocent, like her frankness.
Like her cuteness, like her intelligence and her fragility.
Reason for not going after her is because I felt somebody so ordinary like her is
not a good match for me.
I'm also afraid that after we are together all the good feelings will vanish. I'm also afraid other's gossips will hurt her. I felt that if she's my gal, she will
be mine ultimately & I don't have to give up everything just for her. The last reason, made her accompany me for 3 years.
She watch me chase after gals, and I have make her heart cry for 3 years.
She wants to be a good actress and I'm a very demanding director.
When I kissed my 2nd girlfriend, she bumped into us. She was embarrassed but smile & say "Go on!" before running off. The next day, her eyes was
swollen like a walnut. I purposely didn't want to think about what causes her to cry but laugh at her the whole day. When everybody go back
home, she was alone crying in the classroom. She didn't know that I returned from soccer training to get something. I watch her cry for an hour or
so.
My 4th girlfriend didn't like her. There was once when both of them quarreled. I know that based on her character she's not the type that will start off the quarrel. But I still sided with my girlfriend. I shouted at her and her
eyes was filled shocked. I didn't care about her feelings and walked off with my girlfriend.
The next day, she still laugh & joke with me like nothing has ever happened.
I know that she's very hurt but she didn't know that my heart ache is as bad as hers.
When I broke up with my 5th girlfriend, I asked her out. After going out for a day, I told her that I have something to tell her. She told me that coincidentally, she has something to tell me too. I told her about my break up and she
told me about her getting together. I know whose the guy. He has been going after her for quite a while. A very cute guy full of energy, lively and
interesting. His pursuit for her has been the talk of the school.
I can't show her my heart ache but could only smile & congratulate her.
When I reach home, the heart ache is so strong that I can't stand it.
It's like a heavy weighted stone on my chest. I couldn't breath. Wanted to shout but can't.
Tears rolled down & I broke down & cry. How many times have I seen her cry for the man that doesn't acknowledge her presence too.
During graduation, I read a sms in my hp. It was send 10 days ago when I broke down and cry. I haven't read it since then. It says "Leaf
departure is because of Wind pursuit. Or because Tree didn't ask her to stay"

Happiness, Sadness, Knowledge, and all of the others, including Love.
One day it was announced to thefeelings that the island would sink, so they all prepared their boats and left.
Love was the only one who stayed.
Love wanted to stay with the island until it started sinking.
When Love was almost sinking, he decided to ask for help.
Richness came by Love in a beautiful boat.
Love said,"Richness, can you take me with you?"
Richness answered,"No, I can't... There is a lot of gold and silver in my boat. There is no place here for you."
Love decided to ask Vanity who was also passing by,
"Vanity, please help me!"
"I can't help you Love. You are all wet and you may damage my boat," Vanity answered.
Sadness was close by so again,
Love asked for help,"Sadness, let me go with you."
"Oh...Love, I am so sad that I prefer to go alone!"
Happiness passed by Love too, but she was so happy
that she did not listen when Love called her!
Suddenly, there was a voice,"Come Love, I will take you."
It was an elder. Love became so happy that he even forgot to ask the elder her name.
When they arrived on dry land, the elder went on her own way
Love asked Knowledge, another elder, the name of the elder who had helped him.
"It was Time," answered Knowledge."
Time? But why did Time help me?" asked Love.
"Because only Time is capable ofunderstanding how great Love is,"answered Knowledge.
"Take the time to know what Real Love is"

i hated her... she was such an
embarressment..
my mom ran a small shop at a flea market.
she collected little weeds and such to sell...
anything for the money we needed
she was such an embarressment.
there was this one day during elementary
school..
it was field day, and my mom came.
i was so embarressed. how could she do this
to
me? i threw her a hateful look and ran out.
the next day at school...
"your mom only has one eye?!?!" ..and they
taunted me.
i wished that my mom would just dissappear
from
this world
so i said to my mom,
"mom.. why dont you have the other eye?!
if you're only gonna make me a
laughingstock,
why dont you just die?!!!"
my mom did not respond..
i guess i felt a little bad, but at the same time,
it
felt good to think that i had said what i'd
wanted to
say all this time..
maybe it was because my mom hadnt
punished
me,
but i didnt think that i had hurt her feelings very
badly.
that night...
i woke up, and went to the kitchen to get a
glass
of water.
my mom was crying there, so quietly, as if she
was afraid that she might wake me.
i took a look at her, then turned away.
because of the thing i had said to her earlier,
there
was something pinching at me in the corner
of my
heart.
even so, i hated my mother who was crying
out of
her one eye. so i told myself that i would grow
up
and become successful.
cause i hated my one-eyed mom and our
desperate poverty..
then i studied real hard.
i left my mother and came to Seoul and
studied,
and got accepted in the Seoul University with
all
the confidence i had.
then, i got married.
i bought a house of my own.
then i had kids, too..
now i'm living happily as a successful man.
i like it here because it's a place that doesnt
remind me of my mom.
this happiness was getting bigger and bigger,
when..
what?!
who's this?!
...it was my mother...
..still with her one eye.
it felt as if the whole sky was falling apart on
me.
my little girl ran away, scared of my mom's
eye.
and i asked her,
"who are you?!"
"i dont know you!!!" as if trying to make that
real. i
screamed at her," how dare you come to my
house and scare my daughter!"
"GET OUT OF HERE! NOW!!!"
and to this, my mother quietly answered,
"oh, i'm so sorry. i may have gotten the wrong
address,"
and she dissappeared out of sight.
thank good ness... she doesnt recognize me..
i was quite relieved.
i told myself that i wasnt going to care, or think
about this for the rest of my life.
then a wave of relief came upon me...
one day, a letter regarding a school reunion
came
to my house. so, lying to my wife that i was
going
on a business trip, i went.
after the reunion, i went down to the old
shack,
that i used to call a house...just out of curiosity
there, i found my mother fallen on the cold
ground.
but i did not shed a single tear.
she had a piece of paper in her hand.... it was
a
letter to me.
my son...
i think my life has been long enough now..
and... i wont visit Seoul anymore...
but would it be too much to ask if i wanted you
to
come visit me once in a while?
i miss you so much.. and i was so glad when
i
heard you were coming for the reunion.
but i decided not to go to the school.
...for you...
and i'm sorry that i only have one eye, and i
was
an embarressment for you.
you see, when you were very little, you got into
an
accident, and lost your eye. as a mom, i
couldnt
stand watching you having to grow up with
only
one eye... so i gave you mine...
i was so proud of my son that was seeing a
whole
new world for me, in my place, with that eye. i
was
never upset at you for anything you did.. the
couple times that you were angry with me,.. i
thought to myself, 'it's because he loves me..'
my son... oh, my son...
i really love you.please take care.

One teardrop said to the other,
"I`m the teardrop of a girl who loved a man and lost him. Who are you? "
"I`m the teardrop of the man who regret letting a girl go....."
-she- teardrop consoled,
"There would come a time when we have to stop loving someone because we found out that they`d be happier if we let them go..."
-he- teardrop replied,
"But then you'll know that you miss someone very much when every time you think of that person. Your heart breaks into pieces and just a quick 'Hello' from that person brings the broken pieces back..."
-she- teardrop said,
"It`s really painful to say goodbye to someone else that you don`t want to let go; but it`s even more painful to ask someone to stay if you can never make the relationship work out the way it should be."
She continued,
"LOVE? It`s kind of complicated, but I'll tell you this... The second you're willing to make yourself miserable to make someone else happy, that`s love right there...."
-he- teardrop pondered and said,
"You know, if I had the letters "HRT", I can add "EA" to get a "HEART" or a "U" and get "HURT". But I'd rather choose "U" and get "HURT" than have a "HEART" without "U"..."
-she- teardrop smiled and replied,
"Giving someone all your love is not an assurance that she will love you back. Don`t expect love in return, wait for it to grow in her heart. If it doesn`t, be contented it grows in yours."
-he- teardrop continued,
"She told me once, do not be too good, i will miss you. Don`t be too caring; I might like you. Don`t be too sweet; I might fall for you."
-she- teardrop smiled and said,
"A heart truly in love never loses hope but always believes."
-She- teardrop continued,
"If you love her, please let her know. Because it hurts to love when you have to go. Take care of me; don`t go away. Because if you love me, you will stay... I love you and do you know why? You got me when you first said 'Helo'... "
-he- teardrop said,
"You are brave..."
-she- teardrop then said,
"Now i know it`s always better to have found the courage to love even if you lose it in the end rather than never found love because you were too afraid of the challenge."
-he- teardrop continued further,
"Did you know that the expression "Nothing" is the subconscious mind's way of saying 'I Love You'... That`s what I do. I told her NOTHING and because of that, I lost her even though I love her... I cry for the time that she was almost mine. I cry for the memories I`ve left behind. I cry for the pain, the lost, the old and the new. And I cry for the times I thought I had her!"
-she- teardrop consoled,
"Relationships are like glass. Sometimes it is better to leave them broken than try to hurt yourself putting it back together. Or worse, have nothing strong to bind it together. You never lose in loving. You only lose in holding back."
-he- teardrop cried,
"Now I know. I have learnt. Don`t throw your back to love when it`s already in front of you, don`t drive it away from you. Because if you did, someday you`ll think again why you let love fly away when it was once next to YOU..."
-THE END-

Do you run through each day on the fly? When you ask:"How are you?" Do u hear the reply? When the day is done, do you lie in bed, With the next 100 chores, running through your head? You better slow down. Don't dance so fast. Time is short, the music won't last.
Ever told your child, we'll do it tommorrow? And in your haste, not see his sorrow? Ever lost touch, let a good friendship die Cause you never had time, to call and say "Hi"? You better slow down. Don't dance so fast. Time is short, the music won't last.
When you run so fast to get somewhere, you miss half the fun of getting there. When you worry and hurry though your day, it`s like an unopened gift. Thrown away.
Life is not a race. Do take it slower. Hear the music before the song is over.

As she grew stronger and brighter, she instilled a sort of light and cheer to whom ever she met. She was not beautiful, but she made others feel better about themselves. She meets a rebelious boy who thinks he is all man befriending him, she teaches him. She teaches him how to read and a little boost, the ' man' needed to go to college.
They become fast friends and she fell fast in love with her rugged handsome student. The ' man' then finds himself in love with a girl. A girl who was so beautiful. Her hair was a hallow of light around her. Her eyes the bluest blue of the ocean.' Like an angel' he tells his tutor' like a beautiful angel.'
The girl swallows a lump at her throat. She was not beautiful. She did not posses the heart of the one he loved, but she did not care.As long as he was happy, she would be happy, or so she tried to. She helped write the most beautiful letters to his angel. All the time visioning it was she herself recieving those very letters.
And so the girl helped him choose the right clothes, say the right words, and buy the right gifts for his angel. His angel brought him much joy and much pain to the girl who cried behind her smiles. But that never stopped her from giving more than she will ever receive.
Then one day, all of h--- broke loose. The angel he loved left him for another man. A richer more successful man. The boy was stunned! He was so hurt, he did not speak for days. The girl went to him. He cried on her shoulder and she cried with him. He was hurt and she was too.Time went by and so wounds heal.
The boy realizes something about his friend/tutor. Something he never realized before. How her laughter sounded heavenly and how her smiles brightened up the darkest days, or how simply beautiful she looked to him! Beautiful. This plain, simple girl was beautiful to himAnd he began to fall. Fall so in love with this beautiful girl.
On one day, he picked up all his courage to see her. He walked to her house, nervous, and fidgeting, Running his thoughts over and over his head. He was going to tell her how beautiful she was to him. He was going to tell her how wonderfully in love he was with her. He knocked. No one was home.
The next day, he found out that the beautiful girl he fell in love with had a brain tumor that put her into a coma. The doctors were grim and the family decided to let her go. One final time he got to see her, he held her hand. He stroked her hair and he cried for this beautiful girl. He cried, but it was too late. The beautiful girl was buried and the heavens broke.Out a beautiful spring shower, a cry for their loss.
She was the most beautiful girl in the world and she had taught the rebel boy-man to love and what it is to be loved. She was the most beautiful girl in the world.
Look around. Isn't there a lot of plain faces? Take a good look. A real good look, or you might just miss out that beautiful person. Forever.

Over the phone, his mother told him, "Mr. Belser died last night. The funeral is Wednesday."Memories flashed through his mind like an old news reel as he sat quietly remembering his childhood days."Jack, did you hear me?""Oh sorry, Mom. Yes, I heard you. It's been so long since... I thoughtof him. I'm sorry, but I honestly thought he died years ago," Jack said.
"Well, he didn't forget you. Every time I saw him he'd ask how you were doing. He'd reminisce about the many days you spent over 'hisside of the fence' as he put it," Mom told him."I loved that old house he lived in," Jack said."You know, Jack, after your father died, Mr. Belser stepped in to make sure you had a man's influence in your life," she said.
"He's the one who taught me carpentry," he said. "I wouldn't be in this business if it weren't for him. He spent a lot of time teaching me things he thought were important... Mom, I'll be there for the funeral," Jack said.As busy as he was, he kept his word. Jack caught the next flight to his hometown.
Mr. Belser's funeral was small and uneventful. He had nochildren of his own, and most of his relatives had passed away. The night before he had to return home, Jack and his Mom stopped by to see the old house next door one more time.
Standing in the doorway, Jack paused for a moment. It was like crossing over into another dimension! A leap through space and time. The house was exactly as he remembered. Every step held memories.Every picture, every piece of furniture... Jack stopped suddenly."What's wrong, Jack?" his Mom asked."The box is gone," he said."What box?" Mom asked."There was a small gold box that he kept locked on top of his desk. I must have asked him a thousand times what was inside. All he'd ever tell me was 'the thing I value most, " Jack said. It was gone.
Everything about the house was exactly how Jack remembered it, except for the box. He figured someone from the Belser family had taken it."Now I'll never know what was so valuable to him," Jack said."I better get some sleep. I have an early flight home, Mom."It had been about two weeks since Mr. Belser died. Returning home from work one day Jack discovered a note in his mail box. "Signature required on a package. No one at home. Please stop by the main post office within the next three days," the note read.
Early the next day Jack retrieved the package. The small box was old and looked like it had been mailed a hundred years ago. The handwriting was difficult to read, but the return address caught his attention."Mr. Harold Belser" it read.
Jack took the box out to his car and ripped open the package. There inside was the gold box and an envelope. Jack's hands shook as he read the note inside."Upon my death, please forward this box and its contents to JackBennett. It's the thing I valued most in my life." A small key was taped to the letter. His heart racing, as tears filling his eyes, Jack carefully unlocked the box.
There inside he found a beautiful gold pocket watch.Running his fingers slowly over the finely etched casing, he unlatched the cover.Inside he found these words engraved: "Jack, Thanks for your time!-Harold Belser."
"The thing he valued most... was... my time."Jack held the watch for a few minutes, then called his office and cleared his appointments for the next two days."Why?" Janet, his assistant asked.
"I need some time to spend with my son," he said."Oh, by the way, Janet...thanks for your time!"
