FRIENDS ARE LIKE GEMS

"Roses are red, violets are blue. Gems are precious, and so are you."

We grew up recognizing the tangible truth that friends play a significant role in our lives. Friends gurantee endless fun, but most importantly, they are the people you can trust and count on no matter what. Ironically, they are also the ones you fight with every now and then. Guess no true friendship is spared from tiffs and spats. And it is, after all, how acquaintances became friends, and friends became best friends.

No matter how much of an individualist you are, it's undeniable that we all need friends.. Whether it's for companionship, comfort or support, friends, subconsciously, helped mould us into the persons we are today.

Indeed, friends are like gems -- precious, priceless and perfect! They add sparkle to our lives. They become more valuable with time. And they are genuine. So, go on and show your friends how much you treasure them.

==> i saw this somewhere on a paper, i recopy it to present to all my friends. those who read this, i wanna tell u, u have been a great friend. i will treasure this friendship that we had built. will cherish it as thou i had nv before. it's true that we become more valuable as time goes by and i hope we will keep each other safe and sound. we will be the best buds yah? promise are not meant to be broken, it's meant to keep.. cheers =)

100 days

Peter and Tina are sitting in the park doing nothing, but just gazing into
the sky, while all their friends are having fun with their beloved half.

Tina: I'm so bored. Just wish I have a boyfriend now to spend time with.

Peter: I guess we're the only leftovers. We're the only person who isn't
with a date now. (both sigh n silence for a while)

Tina: I think I have a good idea. Lets play a game
Peter: Eh? What game?

Tina: Eem..It's quite simple. You be my boyfriend for 100 days and I'll be
your girlfriend for 100 days. what do you think?

Peter: Oookay..Anyway I don't have any plan for the next few months.

Tina: You sound like you aren't looking forward to it at all. Cheer up.
Today will be our first day and our first date. Where should we go?

Peter: What about a movie? I heard that there is a really great movie in
theater now.

Tina: Seems like I don't have any better idea than this. Lets move. (went
to watch their movies and sent each other home)

Day 2:
Peter and Tina went to a concert together, and Peter bought Tina a keychain
with a star.

Day 3:
They went shopping together for a friend's birthday present. Share an
ice-cream together and hugged each other for the first time.

Day 7:
Peter drove Tina up onto a mountain and they watch the sunset together.
When the night came and the moon glowed, they said sat on the grass gazing
at the stars together. A meteor passed by. Tina mumbled something.

Day 25:
Spend time at a themepark and got onto rollercoasters, and ate hotdogs and
cotton candy. Peter and Tina got in the haunted house and Tina grabbed
someone's hand instead of Peter's hand by accident. They laughed together
for a while.

Day 67:
They drove pass a circus and decided to get in to watch the show. The
midget asked Tina to play a part as his assistant in the magic show. Went
around to see other entertainments around after the show. Came to a fortune
teller and she just said "Treasure every moment from now on" and a tear
rolled down the fortune teller's cheek.

Day 84:
Tina suggested that they go to the beach. The beach wasn't so crowded that
day. They have their first kiss with each other just as the sun is setting.

Day 99:
They decided to have a simple day and is deciding to have a walk around the
city. They sits down onto a bench.

1:23 pm
Tina: I'm thirsty. Lets rest for a while first.

Peter: Wait here while I go buy some drinks. What would you like?

Tina: Eem...Apple juice will be just fine.

1:43 pm
Tina waiting for about 20 minutes and Peter havent return. Then someone
walked up to her.

Stranger: Is your name Tina?

Tina: Yes, and may I help you?

Stranger: Justnow down there on the street a drunk driver has crashed into
a guy. I think its your friend.

Tina ran over to the spot with the stranger and sees Peter lying on the
floor with blood over his face and her apple juice still in his hands. The
ambulance came and she went to the hospital with Peter.
Tina sat outside the emergency room for five and a half hours. The doctor
came out, and he sigh.

>11:51 pm
Doctor: I'm sorry, but we did the best we could. He is still breathing now
but God would take him away from us very soon. We found this letter inside
his pocket.

The doctor hands over the letter to Tina and she goes into the room to see
Peter. He look weak but peaceful. Tina read the letter and then she burst
into tears. Here is what the letter said.

Tina, our 100 days is almost over. I had fun with you during all these
days. Although you may be greedy sometimes and less thoughtful, but these
all brought happiness into my life. I have realize that you are a really
cute girl and blamed myself for never taken the time to knowing that. I
have nothing much to ask for, but I just wish that we can extend the day. I
want to be your boyfriend
forever and wish that you can be beside me all the time. Tina, I love you.

11:58
Tina: (sobbing) Peter. Did you know what was the wish I made on the night
there was a meteor. I asked God to let us last forever. We were suppose to
last 100 days so Peter! You can't leave me! I LOVE YOU, but can you come
back to me now? I love you Peter. I LOVE YOU.

As the clock struck twelve, Peter's heart stopped beating. It was 100 days.

NOTE*
Tell the guy or girl that you love them before its too late. You never know
whats going to happen tomorrow. You never know who will be leaving you and
never return.

Girlfriends

I'll have to confess I'm not 50 yet !!! hahah... but this is really meaningful.. To all my dear friends, keep in touch and be happy always..... ;) *****************************************************************************

This may be the most important piece of advice an older woman can give to a  younger one.
A young wife sat on a sofa in Bukit Timah on a hot humid day, drinking iced tea and visiting with her Mother. As they talked about life, about marriage, about the responsibilities of life and the obligations of adulthood, the mother clinked the ice cubes in her glass thoughtfully and turned a clear, sober glance upon her daughter.

"Don't forget your g irlfriends," she advised, swirling the tea leaves to the bottom of her glass.

"They'll be more important as you get older. No matter how much you love your husband, no matter how much you love the children you'll have, you are still going to need girlfriends. Remember to go places with them now and then; do things with them. And remember that girlfriends" are not only your friends, but your sisters your daughters, and other relatives too. You'll need other women. Women always do."

"What a funny piece of advice," the young woman thought.

"Haven't I just gotten married? Haven't I just joined the couple-world? I'm now a married woman, for goodness sake, a grownup, not a young girl who needs  girlfriends! Surely my husband and the family we'll start will be all I need to make my life worthwhile!'

But she listened to her Mother; she kept contact with her girlfriends and made more each year. As the years tumbled by, one after another, she gradually came to understand that her Mom really knew what she was talking about. As time and nature work their changes and their mysteries upon a woman, girlfriends are the mainstays of her life.
After 50 years of living in this world, here is what I've learned:

Times passes.
Life happens.
Distance separates.
Children grow up.
Love waxes and wanes.
Hearts break.
Careers end.
Jobs come and go.
Parents die.
Colleagues forget favors.
Men don't call when they say they will.

BUT girlfriends are there, no matter how much time and how many miles are between you.
A girlfriend is never farther away than needing her can reach.
When you have to walk that lonesome valley, and you have to walk it for yourself, your girlfriends will be on the valley's rim, cheering you on, praying for you, pulling for you, intervening on your behalf, and waiting with open arms at the valley's end.
Sometimes, they will even break the rules and walk beside you. Or come in and carry you out. My friends bless my life! The world wouldn't be the same without them, and neither would I.
Every day, we need each other still.
Pass this on to the women who help make your life work. I just did.
Love is to think about someone else more times in a day than you think about yourself.

A Boy And A Puppy

>the story of a little boy & a puppy
>A Storeowner was tacking a sign above his door that read"Puppies for Sale." The signs have a >way of attracting children. Soon alittle boy
>appeared at the sign and asked, "How much are you going to sell those
>puppies for?"
>The store owner replied, "Anywhere from $30-$50."The little boy reached
>into his pocket and pulled out some change. "I have $2.37,can I look at them?"
>The storeowner smiled and whistled. Out of the kennel came his dog, named
>Lady, running down the aisle of his store followed by five little puppies.
>One puppy was lagging considerably behind. Immediately the little boy saw a
>lagging, limping puppy. He asked, "What's wrong with that little dog?"
>The man explained that when the puppy was born, the vet said that this
>puppy had a bad hip socket and would limp for the rest of his life. The
>little boy got really excited and said, "That's the puppy I want to buy!"
> The man replied: "No, you don't want to buy that little dog. If you
>really want him, I'll give him to you."
>The little boy got upset. He looked straight into the man's eyes and said
>"I don't want you to give him to me. He is worth every bit as much as the
>other dogs and I'll pay the full price. In fact, I will give you $2.37 now
>and 50 cents every month until I have him paid for." The man countered,
> >"You really don't want to buy this puppy son. He isnt ever going to be
>able to run, jump and play like other puppies."
>The little boy reached down and rolled up his pant leg toreveal a badly
>twisted, crippled left leg supported by a big metal brace. He looked up at
>the man and said, "Well, I don't run so well myself and the little puppy
>will need someone who understands."
>The man was now biting his bottom lip. Tears welled up in his eyes, he
>smiled and said, "Son, I hope and pray that each and everyone of these
>puppies will have an owner such as you."
>IN LIFE, IT DOESN'T MATTER WHO YOU ARE, BUT WHETHER SOMEONE >APPRECIATES YOU
> FOR WHAT YOU ARE, ACCEPTS YOU AND LIKE YOU UNCONDITIONALLY.
> A REAL FRIEND IS ONE WHO WALKS IN WHEN THE REST OF THE WORLDWALKS AWAY.
